Privacy Policy
Version 1.1 (draft pending legal review) · Effective: 13 October 2026 · Previous version: 30 September 2026 · Applies to koochbhi.com and the Koochbhi mobile applications.
1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy describes how Koochbhi Private Limited (“Koochbhi”, “we”, “us”, “our”) processes personal data when you use our website, mobile application, APIs, beta features, support channels and related services (collectively, the “Platform”). Our primary operating jurisdiction is India.
2. Information we may collect
Depending on the feature you use, we may process:
- Account and contact data: name, mobile number, email address, language, account identifiers and verification status.
- Work and profile data: skills, work sought or offered, job descriptions, location or work area, availability, experience, preferences, responses, ratings, feedback and transaction history.
- Location data: city/locality, PIN/postal references, DIGIPIN and, only when you choose to provide it and device permission is granted, device-derived location.
- Voice and text interaction data: text you type and speech converted into text when you use voice features. Device/OS speech services may process audio as necessary to provide speech recognition.
- Verification and safety data: information you voluntarily provide for contact, identity, safety, dispute or trust checks, including verification status and safety events.
- Transaction and payment data: agreed prices, transaction status, payment references and payment-provider responses. Payment card/bank credentials are handled by the relevant payment provider and are not intended to be stored by Koochbhi.
- Technical and diagnostic data: session identifiers, browser/device type, app version, IP/network data, event timestamps, feature usage, error codes, crash/diagnostic signals and transaction-step telemetry used to identify failures and improve reliability.
- Support and grievance data: messages, tickets, dispute descriptions, reports and records needed to investigate and respond.
3. Why we process information
We process information to operate the Platform; match work opportunities; show relevant jobs or workers; enable user-to-user responses; coordinate transaction states; provide voice/language features; support safety and verification; prevent abuse, fraud and security incidents; process or reconcile payments through authorised providers; provide customer support; maintain audit and diagnostic logs; comply with law; and improve the Platform.
4. Consent and user choice
Where consent is the applicable basis, we seek consent that is specific to the relevant purpose. Device permissions such as microphone, speech recognition and location are requested through the operating system. You may refuse or revoke permissions, although some features may then be unavailable. Where legally required, withdrawal of consent will apply prospectively, subject to data we must retain for legal, security, fraud-prevention, accounting, dispute or compliance purposes.
5. Voice, microphone and speech recognition
Koochbhi is voice-first. When you choose voice input, your device may use native speech-recognition services to convert speech into text. We use the resulting text to understand your request, populate forms and operate the work-matching flow. We do not intentionally use microphone access when you have not initiated or permitted a voice function.
6. Location
Koochbhi may use approximate or precise location to find or match nearby work, calculate distance or improve safety features. Precise device location is used only when the feature is invoked and permission has been granted. You may continue with city/locality or other location references where the product allows.
7. Payments and financial information
Payments may be provided by third-party payment processors. During beta, particular payment functions may operate in sandbox/test mode and must not be treated as a production settlement. When live payments are enabled, the payment provider’s own terms and privacy policy will also apply. Koochbhi does not request that users disclose OTPs, card PINs, UPI PINs, internet-banking passwords or similar authentication secrets to another user.
8. How information may be shared
We may share information only as reasonably necessary with:
- other Platform users when you choose to post, respond, match, connect or transact;
- service providers supporting hosting, security, analytics, language/speech features, communications, verification, customer support and payments;
- professional advisers, auditors, insurers or corporate transaction counterparties subject to appropriate obligations;
- government, regulatory, law-enforcement or judicial authorities where disclosure is required or permitted by applicable law;
- persons necessary to protect rights, safety, security, users or the Platform, or to investigate suspected fraud, abuse or unlawful conduct.
We do not sell personal data for money.
9. Connected services and future ecosystem integrations
Koochbhi may in the future offer optional connections with other websites, applications or services, including ScoreBaba.com and other clearly identified integrated services. If such an integration is activated, information may be shared or combined only for stated purposes such as account continuity, fraud prevention, matching, user-requested profile enrichment, personalised recommendations, human-potential or capability insights, support and service improvement.
Koochbhi does not sell personal data. Where an integrated service is operated by a different legal entity or where applicable law requires a separate choice, the relevant entity, purpose and data categories will be disclosed before the sharing or linking occurs and additional consent will be obtained where required. Refusing an optional integration will not by itself prevent use of unrelated core Koochbhi functions unless that data is genuinely necessary for the requested feature.
10. User-generated information and other users
Koochbhi cannot guarantee that information supplied by another user is true, complete or current. Users must not provide false information, impersonate others, misuse personal data obtained through the Platform, or use information for unlawful discrimination, harassment, fraud or other unlawful purposes. Information you choose to disclose to another user may subsequently be retained or used by that person outside Koochbhi’s direct control.
11. Data retention
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described here, including to operate accounts and transactions, maintain security and audit trails, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, meet accounting/tax obligations and comply with law. Retention periods may differ by data category. Data that is no longer required may be deleted, anonymised or securely archived where legally permitted.
12. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information and Platform risk. No internet or mobile system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Users are responsible for protecting their devices, authentication factors and communications, and should report suspected misuse promptly.
13. Data-principal rights and grievances
Subject to applicable Indian law and the relevant commencement dates of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and rules made under it, eligible users may have rights concerning access to information about processing, correction, completion, updating, erasure, withdrawal of consent, grievance redressal and nomination. Requests must be sufficiently specific to allow us to identify the relevant account/data and may require reasonable verification.
Privacy and grievance contact: Namaste@koochbhi.com.
14. Children
The Platform is not intended to bypass legal requirements applicable to children. Where a feature is offered to a child or requires processing of a child’s personal data, additional consent and safeguards may be required under applicable law. Users must not misrepresent age or authority to consent.
15. Cross-border processing and service providers
Technology providers may process information from infrastructure located outside the user’s state or, where legally permitted, outside India. We seek to use providers and arrangements consistent with applicable legal requirements and any government restrictions concerning cross-border processing.
16. Third-party services and links
The Platform may connect to third-party services such as payment processors, app stores, maps/location services, communication providers and device-level speech recognition. Their services are governed by their own terms and privacy practices. Koochbhi is not responsible for independent processing performed by a third party outside our instructions or control.
17. Platform role; no employment relationship
Koochbhi is a technology and coordination platform. Unless expressly stated in a separate written agreement, Koochbhi is not the employer, employee, principal, agent, contractor, subcontractor, labour supplier or representative of a user merely because that user posts, discovers, responds to or performs work through the Platform. Users are responsible for independently determining the legal, tax, licensing, labour, safety and contractual requirements applicable to their own activities.
18. Accuracy, conduct and user responsibility
Users are responsible for information and representations they provide, the people they choose to engage, the work they agree to perform or receive, and their compliance with applicable law. Koochbhi may provide verification signals or safety tools, but unless expressly stated otherwise, these are not guarantees of identity, honesty, competence, legality, quality, solvency, fitness or outcome.
19. Limits of this Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains data processing. Contractual terms governing use of the Platform, allocation of transaction risk, disputes, limitation of liability and acceptable use are contained in our Terms of Use and Platform Disclaimer. Nothing in this Privacy Policy or the Terms excludes rights, remedies, duties or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable law.
20. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in law, technology, features or operations. The updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised effective date. Material changes will be communicated where required by law.
22. Audio, transcripts, messages and cookies
Audio: speech recognition runs in your browser or phone speech service. Koochbhi receives the text you submit, not an audio recording, and does not store audio. Your device or browser vendor may process audio under its own policy. Messages: job chat messages are stored so both people can see them and for dispute handling. Cookies and storage: we use essential browser storage for language, session and job-ownership tokens, and anonymised first-party service events. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics at this time. See Permissions & Data Choices.
23. Correction, withdrawal of consent and deletion
You can ask us to correct your data, withdraw a consent, or delete your account and data: see Permissions & Data Choices and Account Deletion. We may keep limited records that the law requires (for example payment, fraud-prevention and dispute records). Backups are overwritten on a rolling schedule. Specific retention periods per data category: to be published after company/legal confirmation.
24. Consent records and marketing
When you accept our Terms and this Policy we record your account, the version of each document, the time and the language shown. Optional consents are never pre-ticked and are separate from the Terms. Koochbhi does not send marketing messages today.
25. Grievances
See Grievance Redressal. Grievance Officer details: to be published after company confirmation.
